Are you a male experiencing symptoms of low testosterone such as weight gain and a high-pitched voice?

If so, you may want to look into a product by the name of AndroGel. This testosterone gel has been shown to help with easing symptoms of low testosterone.

Read on to learn everything you need to know about AndroGel.

What is AndroGel?

AndroGel is a medication with a gel-like consistency that is to be applied on the skin. Because of its main ingredient of testosterone, the medication is used to treat conditions that cause low testosterone in men.

Testosterone is naturally-occurring in men and women, although it is the primary sex hormone in men. This hormone is what produces several male characteristics, like facial hair and muscle.

AndroGel works by acting as a replacement for or a supplement to testosterone in the male body. Because of its mechanism in the human body, it is useful for remediating the symptoms and the effects of low testosterone.

It is not effective for improving athletic performance and should not be used in doing so. Using AndroGel in this way could be dangerous.

The medication is not made for use by women or by anyone under eighteen. AndroGel can also be dangerous if used by men with prostate cancer, male breast cancer, diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease, or sleep apnea as well as men with a history of any cardiac, urinary, or vascular issues.

If you’re interested in trying AndroGel to soothe your low testosterone symptoms, you can find AndroGel online.

How Should AndroGel Be Used?

As with any medication, you should follow your doctor’s guidance and read all of the labels carefully. If you use this transdermal gel incorrectly, you may come across unforeseen consequences.

If used incorrectly, AndroGel may cause smaller testicles, larger breasts, permanent infertility, stroke, bone growth problems, high blood pressure, and even heart attacks. The medication could also cause behavioral shifts including addiction, aggression, and even violence.

Your prescription of AndroGel, just like all of your prescriptions, should not be shared with others even if the person you are sharing with has a prescription. Sharing this transdermal gel is not safe.

AndroGel should be applied to the skin on the areas of your body that are covered by a short-sleeved t-shirt. This includes your upper arms, shoulders, chest, and abdomen.

Be sure to wash your hands with soap and water after applying the gel.

You should apply the testosterone gel to the appropriate areas of skin after bathing yourself. Be sure to dry off before putting the medication on.

Cover the areas of application with clothing. If someone else’s skin comes into contact with the medication, be sure to have them clean the area of exposure with soap and water.

What Happens If I Take Too Little or Too Much?

If you accidentally miss a dose of AndroGel, you can still apply the gel a little later However, if it is too close to your next application time, do not apply the gel twice.

You should also avoid applying extra gel. Be careful, because you could apply too much gel subconsciously. Keep in mind that this will not ‘make up’ for the lost dose.

Instead, applying too much AndroGel may warrant a trip to the emergency room. You should call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 if you are afraid that you may have applied too much.

What Precautions Should I Take?

AndroGel should not be applied on or near your groin. If the gel comes into contact with any areas other than the t-shirt areas of the prescribed patient, then those contact areas should be washed thoroughly with soap and water.

If order to get the medication’s full effects, you should avoid washing your t-shirt area within five hours after application. This includes avoiding swimming and showering.

To avoid contact with others, be sure to wear a shirt for at least five hours as well.

It is also important to note that AndroGel is flammable. We hope that you’re staying away from fire in general, but – if you work with or near flames – be sure to avoid using the gel near a flame or coming close to a flame for five hours after application.

This includes being sure not to smoke until you are sure that the testosterone gel has completely dried on your skin. This, again, may take up to five hours.

What Are the Side-Effects of AndroGel?

As with any medication, there are some possible side-effects that you may or may not experience.

The common side-effects associated with AndroGel include the following:

  • skin irritation, itching, and burning wherever the medication is administered

Can AndroGel Be Dangerous?
