Alot of people ask: what is your metabolism?
The answer is really simple: your metabolism is the amount of calories you burn while at rest, and it makes up to about 70% of the calories you burn during the day.
The first tip to increase your metabolism is to use resistance training; things like pushups, situps, pullups, and weight lifting. Women sometimes think they don’t want to lift weights; but that’s kind of going away. But in my opinion, it’s the most effective way to stay lean.
The more muscle that you have, the more calories you’ll burn while at rest
At my age, I don’t lift heavy, but I try to lift 4 times a week at a high intensity level. I’m not a huge bulky guy, but it’s really important that I continue to stress my muscles
so that the muscle tissue breaks down and uses up energy to repair the muscles
The second thing that I have talked about quite a bit is HIIT training. when you do cardio, don’t just do a slow long time. I see people on the treadmill for hours and hours.
If you’re training for distance, you need to do that to train your body. The best way to boost your metabolism with non weight training is through short bursts of high intense cardio mixed with a resting period. Listen to the full video to get the rest of the other tips below:
